NVFN
MacBright is also a member of the NVFN. The NVFN was founded on the 13th of August 1993 to protect the interests of emergency-lighting manufacturers.
Since the NVFN’s foundation, various initiatives have been unfolded/executed by the NVFN, and it is involved in a number of ongoing cases:
- Design guide and practical guide
- Knowledge magazines
- “Follow the arrows” campaign
- Education
- Cooperation ISSO and UNETO/VNI
- Influence on standards and regulations (nationally and internationally)
- NEN commissions
- Member of the European sector association Lighting Europe
The structure of the NVFN consists of three sections. These are:
Application and projection with the mission “to stimulate uniformity within laws and regulations relating to the design and realisation of emergency-lighting situations, with the aim of improving safety”.
Products and technology with the mission “to provide the market with ample knowledge and information regarding the ‘emergency-lighting’ product, and advice regarding the associated technical aspects”.
Service and maintenance with the mission “to enhance awareness of the interest of proper maintenance of emergency lighting and support the companies that are active in this, thus improving the quality level and improving safety”.
Supplementing this mission: the importance of proper maintenance is not always recognised or appreciated. With the foundation of its Service & Maintenance section, the NVFN wants to expand awareness amongst end users and companies that provide service and maintenance, providing them with the tools to do this properly
